Jaw Pain Rehabilitation Program

Jaw Pain Rehabilitation Program is designed to reduce jaw pain and muscle tension, improve jaw mobility, and restore comfortable daily activities through progressive exercises and education across three rehabilitation levels.

Safety guidance

  • • Perform all exercises slowly and within a comfortable range. Do not force the jaw to open wider than is comfortable.
  • • Stop any exercise that causes sharp pain, significantly increases symptoms, or leads to prolonged discomfort.
  • • Avoid excessive chewing, gum chewing, wide mouth opening, and deliberate teeth clenching if these activities worsen your symptoms.

Level 1

Pain Management and Gentle Mobility

This level focuses on reducing jaw muscle tension, promoting relaxation, and restoring comfortable, gentle jaw movement. Exercises emphasize relaxed jaw positioning, controlled opening and closing, and breathing techniques to help improve movement tolerance and establish a foundation for further rehabilitation.

Level 3

Functional Recovery and Endurance

This level focuses on restoring comfortable jaw function during daily activities. Exercises gradually develop movement tolerance, maintain coordination, and support a progressive return to normal chewing and speaking activities. The emphasis is on functional improvement, symptom management, and maintaining the gains achieved in previous levels.
